How Much Does A “Psychic” Reading Usually Cost?
Yes, I know they're not real and just a rip off, but my friends and I were thinking of doing a group psychic reading or getting individual readings if they're not too expensive. I'm not looking for a real reading, we just want to test it out (what, I'm curious) and have fun!
So has anyone ever had a psychic reading in the Chicago area? A group reading? Is it expensive?

A quality psychic should cost from $35-100 per hour. Sometimes you can get a short reading for 10 or 20 bucks at a book shop or an event. There is also a quality psychic telephone service in the Boston area, that is I think a dollar a minute.

Readings can range anywhere from a love dontation (whatever you can afford to give) to $500+ per hour. It depends on who you see, if they are well known, and various other factors.
If you are looking for something that's just "fun" consider searching for a psychic fair that you can attend. Readings at fairs are *generally* less expensive than regular sessions and most major cities have at least some location(s) that offers psychic/intuitive/tarot fairs at some point during the month.
Optionally, some places, like my store in Florida, offers free student nights. These nights are designed to allow students a chance to read "real" people and not just their class mates. It's free and, hopefully, fun for both the student and person getting the reading.

A decent budget might be a dollar a minute from a live psychic, or about 30 dollars for half an hour, and possibly discounts for more time. Some readings are cheap like ten dollars, and some psychics can make you go bankrupt.
Group readings are unique. These types of readings might be around $100 an hour. This is if the psychic comes to your group for entertainment. In big cities Chicago the prices will be higher. You could try bartering with the psychic, because they do want to get money and don't want you to go to a competitor. See if they have a first time discount or group discounts. Never, ever let the psychic know how much money you have to spend; if the price is too high keep looking for a price that works for your group.
